I’m Dr. Julio Thiego de Carvalho Silva — a veterinarian with over 5 years of clinical experience, and the founder of VetPawsitive.

 

I know what it’s like to stand in front of a shelf full of pet food, supplements, and gadgets, feeling completely overwhelmed. There’s so much information out there — and so much of it is confusing or even misleading. My goal is simple: to give you clear, honest, science-based guidance that helps you make confident decisions for your pet.

 

My Background

I earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Universidade Potiguar, in Brazil, where I’m a licensed veterinarian (CRMV-RN registration: 01589). Over the past 5 years, I’ve worked in clinical practice, specializing in the clinical care and surgery of small animals — from routine wellness care to complex surgical cases.

 

My approach is rooted in evidence-based medicine. I stay current with international veterinary research — including guidelines from the AVMA, AAHA, and peer-reviewed journals — so the information you find here reflects the best available science, not just opinion.

I created VetPawsitive to translate complex veterinary science into clear, actionable guidance for pet owners. Every article is written with one question in mind: “Will this help a pet owner care for their pet better?” If the answer isn’t yes, it doesn’t belong here.
